Analyze The Learner
This lesson plan is intended for middle school students (grades 6 through 8) who are being introduced to the French language and culture, and is suited for students who have either auditory, visual, and/or kinesthetic learning styles.

State The Objective
- The students will examine France's influence on their own life and the world through the works of Rene Descartes, Louis Pasteur, and Auguste Bartholdi, and report findings via written work, and a group Power Point presentation.
- The students will access new information on the historic influences of France, the language and the culture thereof, and report findings via written work, and a group Power Point presentation.
- The students will write on the information they've learned regarding France and include supporting detail about the way this information is impacting them.

- Knowledge: The students will recall the information they've learned by repeating, and describing it on their Microsoft Word assignment as well as their PowerPoint presentation.
- Comprehension: The students will explain, summarize, and discuss the information they've learned through their Microsoft Word assignment as well as their PowerPoint presentation .
- Analysis: The students will recognize hidden meanings and will show what they've analyzed, examined and concluded on the lesson via their Microsoft Word assignment as well as their PowerPoint presentation.
- Synthesis: The students will relate the ideas from the several topics of this lesson to compose and develop knew ones which will be stated on their Microsoft Word assignment as well as their PowerPoint presentation
- Evaluation: The students will judge and value the lesson they've learned and demonstrate that they've assessed and estimated them via their Microsoft Word assignment as well as their PowerPoint presentation.

- Use computers with Internet access to review information on links provided.
- Use computers with Microsoft Word to write paragraphs.
- Use computers with Microsoft PowerPoint to create presentation
Require Learner Participation
Day 1
Students will use the classroom computers with internet access, as well as Microsoft word to complete one 2-part assignment:
Part 1
- Students will take a few minutes to think about why they're taking this class and write the reasons in a detailed paragraph (at least 5 sentences) using Microsoft Word.
- Students will review the information on the various subjects by clicking on their respective links (provided in lesson).
- Once finished reviewing the information, the students will write a detailed paragraph (at least 5 sentences) explaining their thoughts on the information they've reviewed (i.e. is this new information for them, would their lives be any different if these people never existed and explain, does this information add any value to them and explain).
Students will use the classroom computers with internet access, as well as Microsoft PowerPoint to complete the following assignment:
- Students will gather with their assigned group members to create a PowerPoint presentation based on the information they covered yesterday.
